Discipleship/Training

In 2014, the Barna Group performed a research study to assess the rising trend of churchlessness in America and found that 48% of my peers (13 to 31) have made a drastic departure from any affiliation with a church body. Never before in America has there been a generation so detached from the life of the church. The landscape of the church is radically changing because my generation is leaving it, and I believe they are leaving because they have lost confidence in the story the church is telling.

If our purpose as the church, specifically commissioned by Jesus
Himself, is to go and make disciples of all nations, and we can’t adequately disciple the next generation within our own borders...that is a problem we can’t afford to ignore.

The reality is, the church needs more spiritual fathers and mothers to effectively disciple my generation in the greatest story ever told... the story of Jesus! I am incredibly fortunate and grateful to have been poured into by a handful of spiritual shepherds in my life. I believe that this season of my life is the time to invest in others the same way that others have invested in me.
